Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) has been seen as an important factor influencing economic growth directly and indirectly in both developed and developing countries. This study assesses the impact of FDI on growth in Ghana since the return to constitutional rule in 1993. The study uses time series data from 1993 to 2016. Using the Autoregressive Distributed Lagged model (ARDL), the study finds a positive impact of FDI on growth both in the short-run and long-run. However, there is a lag period of two. The study equally finds that Gross Saving has a positive impact on growth. On the other hand inflation has a negative effect on growth both in the short and long run. The study also discovered that FDI granger causes growth but GDP does not granger cause FDI. Post-election years with incidence of political uncertainty slow down FDI inflow into Ghana. The study recommends the adoption of stringent fiscal and monetary policies to keep inflation low. It also recommends maintaining and improving the liberal market environment to attract investors, policies to encourage saving, and improving on political transitions to avoid uncertainties for investors.

The objective of this article is to analyze the impact of the early adoption of IFRS on the value relevance of accounting information among the CAC 40 listed companies.In our study we adopted the Ohlson (1995) models in order to study the value relevance of accounting information. Our data was collected manually .The period 2002-2004 was used as the pre anticipation of the IFRS and the period 2004-2006 was used as the post anticipation of the IFRS .The problem therefore of our research is the following is: What is the effect of the early adoption of IFRS on the quality of the accounting information?In the study, our estimates focused on two panels: panel A and panel B. After analyzing the various estimates we found that the early adoption of IFRS has enabled companies in panel A, companies which adopted IFRS in an anticipated manner, to provide investors with accounting information with greater value relevance compared to the companies of panel B.Thanks to this study we can confirm that the early adoption of IFRS significantly enhanced the quality of accounting information for panel A.

This study aimed to analyze the level of bankruptcy using Altman Z-Score model of modifications and models Springate, the Plantations Company period 2014-2017. The data used in this research is secondary data, financial data Plantations Company taken from the site www.idx.co.id. Based on the results of this study show that the model of the Altman Z-Score modification Plantations Industries was having financial difficulties which would be potentially bankrupt, it can be seen from the Z-Score of less than 1.1 in the period 2014-2017 and no different from using a model that generates value Springate S-Score <0.862 means that the financial performance Plantations company are experiencing financial difficulties during the 2014-2017 period and potentially going bankrupt.

This paper discusses stakeholder opposition risk. The analysis of project risks in Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) has traditionally focused more on political, construction, finance and other market-related risks with little attention paid to stakeholder opposition. The paper looks at the role of stakeholders in PPP projects and how they impact the success of projects, and contends that it is the misallocation of this risk to the private sector party, based on the principles of extant stakeholder theory that leads to public opposition to projects. Therefore, the stakeholder accountability theory is proposed as this approach properly recognizes the roles of both the public and private sector parties in the management of stakeholder opposition risk

This paper examines the relationship between Saudi oil revenues and the Kingdom’s economic growth over the past 47 years. In analyzing the data that are needed for this analysis, problems were encountered with the basic real GDP and government oil revenue data that are typically used. The most widely-used measure of non-oil private sector activity that is available, the Non-Oil Private Institutional Sector GDP, does not include the Gross Value Added of all of the private activities, omitting over SAR 80 billion of real activity (in 2010 prices). A new series was constructed, consisting of all of the non-oil private activities, including the recently corporatized/privatized companies. In addition, the oil revenue data prior to 1987 were found to be unsatisfactory for use as published, due to their being based on the 354-355 day Hijra calendar. A new conversion methodology, based on a recently published paper by Qualls et al. (2017), was applied, and the pre-1987 data were converted to a consistent Gregorian basis with good results. The two series were determined to have a unit root of order one, with a highly significant long-run relationship. An error-correction model was then estimated, and highly significant short- and long-run relationships were found. A Ganger Causality test was performed, with the results confirming the ECM’s results, with real government oil revenue growth “Granger-causing” real private-sector GDP growth. Finally, the new non-oil activity GDP measure produced better results than did the traditionally-used Non-Oil Private Sector GDP.

Based on the data of foreign-invested enterprises in Shaanxi Province in 2017, this paper analyzes the business characteristics and business performance of the regional enterprises in the Belt and Road in Shaanxi. Finally, draw the conclusion of this paper and give the corresponding policy recommendations.

This research aims to identify and analyze the effect of Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Operation Expense (BOPO), Net Interest Margin (NIM), and Non Performing Loan (NPL) of the Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR) of conventional bank on the Indonesia Stock Exchange period 2012 – 2017, either simultaneously or partially. Independent variables used in this study is CAR, BOPO, NIM and NPL, while LDR as the dependent variable.The population in this research is conventional bank listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The sampling technique in this research is purposive sampling. The number of samples in accordance with the prescribed criteria are as many as 35 samples. Based on the result of the research found that the variable CAR influences negatively insignificantly toward LDR, BOPO and NIM influences positively insignificantly toward LDR, while the variable NPL influences positively significantly toward CAR. But simultaneously CAR, BOPO, NIM, and NPL jointly affect the LDR.

This paper investigates public procurement in Broadband Infrastructure Projects in the Republic of Croatia, the funding of which is provided by the European Regional Development Fund for the period 2014-2020. Since successfully implemented procurement procedure for the infrastructure solution is one of the key factors for grant approval and the start of project implementation, the question arises as to which public procurement techniques contribute best to achieving the goals and meeting the objectives of these specific projects. It is estimated that the available literature and legal cases are not sufficient to make a decision on the selection of the procedure. Therefore, a conclusion of possible procedures was reached on the efficient and effective process through a comparison, as well as multicriteria analysis, leading to the successful completion of the procurement process.

The article sought to review the contemporary challenges and their policy interventions in the Kenyan insurance industry in terms of the external and internal challenges affecting the insurance business and which require leadership and managerial actions. The researcher reviewed the contemporary challenges and the performance of insurance companies in Kenya by looking at the external business environmental challenges and how they affect the management of Insurance companies. Secondly, the study considered how Kenyan insurance companies adapt and adjust their internal practices and processes to satisfy the changing customer expectations. The article goes further to review the critical policy issues which are required to address: changing consumer dynamics, enforce strict compliance with the stringent regulations, constant product innovations, and greater need for communication, technological disruptions, on-demand marketplace, and compensation. Using peer-reviewed literature and the published integrated annual reports of Jubilee Insurance Company Ltd; the study discussed and highlighted the policy interventions in relation to the demands of business and customers. Using Jubilee Insurance as a model insurance company in a case study, the researcher found that by combining performance driven behaviour and regular use of management control systems, Insurance Companies were able to post improved results. The Choice of Jubilee was driven by its size and stability among the Kenyan insurance companies. Jubilee has adopted an integrated reporting system which enabled the researcher to obtain the empirical information required from a secondary source. The researcher reviewed the data from the company’s integrated annual reports for the ten years from 2007 to 2017. The study looked at the control systems, including informal and formal controls and subjected these controls to a more comprehensive analysis to establish the impact of management control systems and strategy on the insurance company performance. The study suggested further empirical research to find the linkage between the policy interventions to various challenges and the performance of the insurance companies in Kenya.

In this paper, the link between energy prices and price level is investigated from a historical perspective for the case of Ottoman Empire during the period 1885-1914. Although the unit root test results revealed that none of the variables are integrated of second or higher order, the findings of the unit root tests were conflicting. Therefore, to investigate the dynamic relations between energy prices and inflation, ARDL approach to cointegration is employed. The results of the bounds tests showed that energy prices and CPI were cointegrated. Furthermore, ARDL long-run results showed that a 1% change in inflation causes a 0.85% change in energy prices in same direction

The objective of this study is to identify the determinants of inflation in West Africa, mainly in the WAEMU zone, in order to contribute to improving the conduct of monetary policy. The equation of the exchange of the Quantitative Theory of the Currency and the generalized method of moments (MMG) in dynamic panel is used. Annual data concerning six countries in West Africa and range from 1991 to 2015. The results of the estimation show that in addition to the economic growth rate and the money supply, the devaluation has a significant effect on inflation. As we can see, inflation is not systematically a monetary phenomenon in West Africa. The authorities must therefore seek to determine the optimal threshold for the rate of increase of the money supply.

Attaining sustainable agricultural development in any economy indubitably points towards ensuring improved quality of life and enough food for both present and future generations. The need to understand the links between agricultural output and health outcomes necessitates an inquiry to ascertain the extent the changes in health outcomes can influence agricultural output. This study using the dynamic error correction built an econometric model such that mortality rate and life expectancy are proxies for health outcomes while agricultural output is the dependent variable; HIV/AIDS is the dummy. Results showed that HIV/AIDS has lethal effects on health outcomes and aggregate output. It revealed that health outcomes also have significant impact on agricultural output potentials; and there is a causal relationship between health outcomes and agricultural output in Nigeria. This implies that if the healthcare system in Nigeria can be taken as a policy priority, a tremendous increase in the agricultural sector is unarguably expected. A simultaneous front involving both the public and private sectors in extending the healthcare services is necessary to enable workers and prospective workers access to healthcare delivery; this will invariably boost the agricultural output.

The agricultural sector in Eswatini is viewed as an engine to foster economic growth, reduce poverty and eradicate inequality. The purpose of the study was to investigate the effects of monetary policy on the agriculture Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Eswatini using annual data for the period starting from 1980 to 2016. Using the Vector Error Correction model (VEC), the empirical results indicated that in the long run, agriculture GDP, exchange rate, interest rate, inflation, broad money supply, and agriculture credit have a negative effect on agriculture GDP in Eswatini. In the short run the study indicated that the variation in agriculture GDP is largely significant caused by the lagged agricultural GDP, interest rate, exchange rate as well as inflation. Money supply and agriculture credit contribute 0.46% and 0.55%, respectively to the variation in agricultural GDP. The study recommends that programs aimed at availing affordable credit to farmers should be prioritized to cushion the agriculture sector against adverse monetary policy shocks in the short to medium term, specifically interest rates, to ensure continuous production.

The literature is in respect of the fact that foreign direct investment has been a key aspect of the development strategy of most developing countries. The main objective of the study is to examine the extent FDI influence employment creation in the non-mining sector of Ghana for the period 2000 – 2016 using time series (annual) data conducted with the aid of OLS (Multiple Linear Regression) model, Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL-ECM) Bounds Testing Approach and Granger-Causality test in the estimation of level relationship / cointegration and causality (respectively) between the study variables (for robustness checks). The result of this study shows that FDI has a statistically significant and a positive impact on employment growth via jobs creation in Ghana. Again, evidence shows that the study variables are cointegrated and have a long run relationship. Further robust test from Granger-causality shows no causal relationship from FDI to employment growth or from employment growth to FDI (at significance level of 5%). In addition, the study identifies factors such as wage structure, investment freedom and subsectors as important indicators influencing employment in the country. Finally, the study recommends policies to help create enabling political and socio-economic environment for FDI thereby creating more sustainable jobs and tackling the current high rates of unemployment in Ghana.

In this work we deal mostly with the recent (2008-present) Federal Reserve operated monetary policies, which are two unprecedented and distinct monetary policy regimes. The Zero Interest Rate Regime (2008:12-2015:11) and the New Regime (2015:12-2018:12). These different monetary policy regimes provided various outcomes for inflation, interest rates, financial markets, personal consumption, personal savings, real economic growth, and social welfare. Some of the important results are that monetary policy appears to be able to affect long-term real interest rates, risk, the prices of the financial assets, and very little the real personal consumption, personal savings, and the real economic growth during the recent period of extreme monetary policy, in which the Fed held short-term interest rates abnormally low for an extended period (2008-2015) and the present time, which keeps the federal funds rate below the inflation rate. The Fed’s interest rate target was set during those seven years at 0% to 0.25%. On December 16, 2015, the Fed started increasing the target rate by 25 basis points approximately in each FOMC meeting, from 0.25% to 0.50% to 0.75%, and presently to 2.50%. We want to explain the low level of long-term interest rates and the real rate of interest (cost of capital) in the economy. The evidence suggests that it is the Fed the main cause of the low (negative) real interest rate following the 2007-2008 financial crisis. This monetary policy was not very effective (the zero interest rate target of the Fed). It has created a new bubble in the financial market, future inflation, and a redistribution of wealth from risk-averse savers to banks and risk-taker speculators. In addition, it has increased the risk (RP) by making the real risk-free rate of interest negative. The effects on growth, prices, and employment were gradual and very small, due to outsourcing and unfair trade policies, which have affected negatively the social welfare. The dual mandate (price stability and maximum employment) of the Fed is not sufficient to maximize the social welfare of the country.

This paper measures the volatility of market risk in Viet Nam banking, insurance and stock investment industry after this period (2015-2017). The main reason is the necessary role of the financial system in Vietnam in the economic development and growth in recent years always go with risk potential and risk control policies. This research paper aims to figure out how much increase or decrease in the market risk of Vietnam banking, insurance and stock investment firms during the post-low inflation environment 2015-2017, compared to what happened in the financial crisis 2007-2009.First, by using quantitative combined with comparative data analysis method, we find out the risk level measured by equity beta mean in the banking industry has increased whereas the risk fluctuation also increased. Second, stock investment industry has the level of market risk as well as the risk fluctuation decreasing. Third, different from the 2 above industries, insurance industry experienced the level of market risk increasing while the risk volatility decreasing. Then, one of its major findings is the comparison between risk level of stock investment industry during the financial crisis 2007-2009 compared to those in the post-low inflation time 2015-2017. During the financial crisis 2007-09, stock industry has the highest beta value whereas during the post-low inflation time, banking industry maintained the highest value. Finally, this paper provides some ideas that could provide companies and government more evidence in establishing their policies in governance. This is the complex task but the research results shows us warning that the market risk need to be controlled better during the post-low inflation period 2015-2017. And our conclusion part will recommends some policies and plans to deal with it.

This article seeks to examine the impact of the Bangladesh’s stock market development on its economic growth from the period of 1989-2012. We have used Johansen Cointegration test to estimate the long-run equilibrium relationship between the variables and the Granger causality test was conducted in order to establish causal relationship, while the model was estimated using the error correction model (ECM). Johansen co-integration test results show that the Bangladesh’s stock market development and economic growth are co-integrated. This indicates that a long run relationship exists between stock market development and economic growth in Bangladesh. The causality test results suggest a unidirectional causality from stock market development to the economic growth. On the other hand, there is no “reverse causation” from economic growth to stock market development. The evidence from this study reveals that the activities in the stock market tend to impact positively on the economy. It is recommended therefore that stock market regulatory authority should therefore address policy issues that are capable of boosting the investors’ confidence through improved policy formulation and creation of awareness.

The aim of this study is to examine the impact of international capital flows on the economic growth in Jordan during the period from 2005 to 2017, The study also examines trends and composition of capital inflows. The study used descriptive analytical research method which was appropriate for the purpose of research. By using time series data, the study found that Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), foreign portfolio investment (FPI), grants (Gr) and Worker remittances (WR) are positively affecting the economic growth direct contribution. Based on the research results, the study came with a several recommendations, the most important recommendation is; the government of Jordan should create and relax the rules and regulations to attract more investors, and also the government should work hand in hand with the developed countries to create economic and employment opportunities, improve the country’s competitiveness, and expand growth within the private sector so that everyone in Jordan has the opportunity to contribute to a brighter future.

Furthermore, the study explores experts’ views in regard to the optimal alternative to the investment in an financial sector. The outcomes of this research methods: interview and questionnaire, show that, despite the uncertainty and instability featured the present financial investment scene, manifested by the current economic slowdown and financial crisis: balance sheet recession, market crunches and banking collapse in different parts of the world, the majority of the participants, trusted the financial sector as a shelter for the reserves of Saudi Arabia. They believed that government bonds and T-bills are the most secure financial instruments to invest the accumulated revenues from oil returns. Thus, from the participants responses, the financial investment sector represents the acceptability framework that can be a safe channel to maximize income for the national economy.

The output gap indicating the difference between the actual and potential levels of output is a critical factor for estimating the inflationary pressures in an economy. If the main target of a central bank is ensuring and maintaining the price stability, estimating the output gap with a minimum error is crucial for the efficiency of the monetary policy. In this study, we estimated the output gap in Turkey for the 2002-2014 period by using four different methods. Two of these estimation methods are purely statistical (Linear Trend and Hodrick-Presscot (HP) Filtering) while the others are integrated with the relations suggested by the economic theory (multivariate structural model and structural autoregressive (SVAR) model). By using empirical decision criteria common in the literature, we conclude that SVAR model produces the most reliable output gap estimates to explain inflationary pressures in Turkey. However, we also found that the Hodrick-Presscot filtering method is the second best methodology in the output gap estimation process.

The research aims to study the factors that affect the dividends policy at the REITs ,which listed at Kuwait Stock Exchange, using 41 observation of one year, included all 41 REITs, multi linear multi regression model technique was applied. The explanatory variables are, pay-out ratio, cash flow from finance activities, earning per share, assets size, revenues. The study reached to a statistically high significance and positive relationship between dividends per share and all explanatory variables except assets size had no significant effect, also revenue variable had negative relationship with dividends per share

This study modeled volatility and daily exchange rate movement in Nigeria with daily exchange rate between Nigeria Naira and US Dollar from January 2, 2001 to May 20, 2019 collected from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). The results of the estimated models revealed that conditional variance (volatility) has positive and significant relationship with exchange rate returns between Nigeria Naira and US Dollars, which corroborates the theory that predicts positive relationship between return and volatility for risk averse investors. Also found that exchange rate volatility between Naira / US Dollar is persistent. It was also discovered that goods news produces more volatility than bad news of equal magnitude. The researchers therefore suggested that the Central Bank of Nigeria should always proffer timely intervention to reduce the volatility persistence. This will go a long way to counteract or moderate the excess volatility between Naira and US Dollar transactions.

In free market economy; at present there are lots of reasons of market failure. The aim of this paper is to find out those reasons and analyses the probable solutions for recovering those market failures. This paper shows that market failure mostly resulting from an incomplete information as well as information asymmetry between providers and consumers, the effect of externalities, imperfect information, imperfect mobility of factors of production, income inequality, market dominance, negative externalities, positives externalities, public goods and the divergence between social and private time preference rates. Lot of solutions have been found out to overcome the market failure includes Tax on Negative Externalities, Subsidy on positive externalities, Laws and Regulations, Buffer stocks, Government advertising and campaigns. The conceptual framework has been developed by finding and evaluating the market failure overcoming factors where the free market economy can reach to the market equilibrium position from the market disequilibrium condition. Thus, the recommendations of this research will be helpful for home govt. and Businessman to keep the open market in equilibrium position.

This study investigated a pertinent question on the lips of every Nigerian; exchange rate regime, Quo Vadis Nigeria? Nigeria, Quo Vadis (where do we go)? under two alternative managed floating regimes; Dutch Auction System and post Dutch Auction System regimes, within the Autoregressive Distributive Lag methodology using monthly data covering from July 2002 to July 2017. The results for the full sample show that none of the selected macroeconomic variables has a significant short run relationship with the nominal effective exchange rate. In the long run, all the variables, except interbank rate, show negative relationship with nominal effective exchange rate. However, while the effects of oil prices, interbank rate and the prime lending rate are significant, the effects of inflation and stock prices are insignificant. The results for the Dutch Auction System sample show little evidence of a negative short run relationship between nominal effective exchange rate and inflation while oil prices, prime lending rate, interbank rate and stock prices all show no evidence of a short run relationship with exchange rate. On the contrary, oil prices, prime lending rates and stock prices all show significant negative long run relationship with nominal effective exchange rate. The results for the post Dutch Auction System sample show evidence of a positive short run relationship between stock prices, interbank rate and nominal effective exchange rate. On the other hand, inflation, oil prices and prime lending rate show no short run relationship nominal effective exchange rate. However, there is evidence of a lagged positive relationship between inflation and nominal exchange rate. The cointegration test for post Dutch Auction System sample gives inconclusive results. We therefore, conclude that the choice of exchange rate regime matters for macroeconomics performance in Nigeria and that the closure of the Dutch Auction system by the monetary authorities significantly altered the relationship between nominal exchange effective exchange rate and macroeconomic variables.

This last year, the extent of poverty and socio-economic crises in some African countries, particularly in Côte d’Ivoire have favoured child labour. Thus, despite the political fight against this phenomenon, it’s remains a concern. This research therefore aims to identify the determinants of child labour in Côte d’Ivoire, using 2005 data from the national survey on child labour with 5,571 children. The descriptive statistic showed that 1,509 (27.09%) were in child labour category: 743 boys (27.04%) and 766 girls (27.14%). The estimated multinomial logit presented that household poverty and low level of parent’s education remains a determinant of child labour. In addition, the permanent employment of the household in agriculture reduces child labour. Thus, policy makers can modernize agriculture. This strategy will allow the use of modern technology inaccessible to children and improve agricultural productivity. With a guaranteed minimum price for agricultural production poor households will earn higher incomes. In addition, targeted free schooling is required.

Reading plays a significant role in language learning and information communication. This study investigated the influence of content schema on Chinese English learners’ reading comprehension. Participants were 20 freshmen with the same English proficiency. Schema theory was adopted as the theoretical foundation. The results showed that: (1) Content schemata enhanced L2 learners’ reading comprehension performance; (2) Content schemata had a positive impact on the comprehension of expository passages and little effect on that of narrative passages; (3) Proficiency level correlated positively with reading comprehension performance. But the insufficiency of language knowledge could be supplemented by relevant schemata. Based on the above, some suggestions are provided for the teaching and learning of English.

In the process of R&D globalization, due to market demand and preferential policies, many multinational companies choose to invest in R&D in China. With the increase of labor costs in coastal areas and the rapid economic development of the central and western regions, multinational companies have already shifted from coastal areas to central and western regions when choosing R&D regions in China, especially in Shaanxi Province. Therefore, studying the character of R&D investment and operating performance of Multinational Corporation in Shaanxi Province has important practical significance. This article uses the data of the R&D investment of multinational corporation in the joint annual inspection of Shaanxi Province in 2018 as the sample and uses EXCEL software to conduct data analysis to gain an in-depth understanding of the character of R&D and investment of multinational corporation in Shaanxi Province, business characteristics and business performance. And it is concluded that the R&D investment of multinational corporation in Shaanxi Province has a series of characteristics such as concentration of distribution, concentration of enterprise scale, and overall good performance of operating performance.

At the early stages the area now known as Nigeria was an agricultural economy which aroused the interest of early British it’s in Nigeria’s palm produce, cocoa, groundnuts, rubber and others that were shipped to Liverpool and returned to the country as finished goods. The British governments philosophy of dual mandate encouraged the Royal Niger Company with power to administer, make treaties, charge customs dues and carry on trade in all territories in the basin of the Niger River and it’s affluent. Ahead of the withdrawal of the Charter by the British government in 1900, British business people like Jones sought for an alternative platform to promote trade between British and the area now known as Nigeria by the establishment of BBWA on March 31, 1894, with its head office in Liverpool. The bank now known as FBN has passed through the rigours of effective international management in the past 125 years and remains one of the most profitable banking enterprises on the African Continent. In the process of international management the bank produced great managers including Mr. John Major who worked at Jos Main Branch in Nigeria and later became the Prime Minister of Great Britain. 115 people participated in the study conducted through the exploratory research design. Data gathered were analyzed through the descriptive and regression statistical methods and the result showed positive correlation between international management and sustainable profitability. However, further research could be conducted to supplement the present effort including an examination of the relationship between shareholders, worth and profit before taxation in public companies in Nigeria. On the basis of the result of the study it was a recommendation that companies seeking to play in the international environment must ensure that they have competent managers to drive organizational goals.

This study investigated a pertinent question on the lips of every Nigerian; exchange rate regime, Quo Vadis Nigeria? Nigeria, Quo Vadis (where do we go)? under two alternative managed floating regimes; Dutch Auction System and post Dutch Auction System regimes, within the Autoregressive Distributive Lag methodology using monthly data covering from July 2002 to July 2017. The results for the full sample show that none of the selected macroeconomic variables has a significant short run relationship with the nominal effective exchange rate. In the long run, all the variables, except interbank rate, show negative relationship with nominal effective exchange rate. However, while the effects of oil prices, interbank rate and the prime lending rate are significant, the effects of inflation and stock prices are insignificant. This paper empirically examines the impact of bank specific characteristics in determining the Islamic banking profitability in Bangladesh. Research period covers 2010–2017. Research method is a panel analysis. Fixed effects model is applied based on the Hausman test. The study takes return on assets (ROA) as the proxy of profitability. Company specific explanatory variables for the study are bank size, capital-to-risk assets (CRAR), investment-to-deposit (liquidity), non-performing investment (NPI), and cost-to-income. The study finds 4 out of 5 variables statistically significant. However, liquidity slightly misses the significance level. We have found CRAR and cost-to-income are negatively correlated, and liquidity is positively correlated to bank profitability as our expectation. On the other hand, estimation shows a negative correlation between bank size and profitability. Moreover, NPI is found to be positively correlated to ROA because Islamic banking industry’s very low percentage of non-performing investment (3.3%) could not inversely affect the profitability.

The company goal is to maximize the shareholders’ prosperity, not just to maximize profit. The fact is that the company not only has economic responsibility but also social responsibility to the community and its environment. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of good corporate governance (GCG) and corporate social responsibility (CSR) on the firm value. The research sample of 15 companies was taken using purposive sampling from companies listed in the LQ-45 on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period of 2014-2017. This study uses panel data regression analysis with Random Effect model method. GCG is a representation of managerial ownership, institutional ownership, independent commissioner, and audit committee. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant influence between GCG and CSR on firm value simultaneously. Partially, independent Commissioners and CSR each have an influence on the firm value, but there is an anomaly.
